The Bayou Classic brass control valve or knurled needle valve help control the temperature of your flame. Add the brass control valve or knurled needle valve to your regulator to bring your flame down for a simmering heat or high enough to boil a large boiling pot. The brass control valve or knurled needle valve measures ¼ inches F x ¼ inches MNPT.

Customer Question:

I recently bought a 0-30 psi regulator (along with a hose and a banjo burner - see receipts below) from you. I think I have a problem with the regulator. When I connect it I have to physically hold it up to allow gas to flow. When I release it, the gas flow almost stops, leaving me with a flame about 1/8" tall, barely keeping alight. It works fine when I hold it up, though. Obviously I can't stand there and hold it up for 3 hours while I brew...

Is this a bad regulator? Have you ever heard of this? I tested this on two LP tanks, one 30#, another 10# (a brand new Blue Rhino). I think the regulator female screw connection to the tank is not quite right or something.

Resolution:

Never mind - I figured it out. User error! ;-)  I was leaving the regulator open which was causing the OPD protection to trip, stopping any gas from flowing. If I turn the regulator all the way left (to the - sign), turn on the gas, then open the regulator I can light it and get a monstrous flame!
Thanks, and Happy Holidays!! :-)
